KANSAS CITY, MO —
HotelBrokerOne (HB1) is pleased to announce the sale of the Motel 6 to a Dallas
based hotel redevelopment specialist. Extensive refurbishment and repositioning
planned for the hotel located at 8230 NW Prairie View Rd, Kansas City, MO.
The approximately 3-acre
property, which includes the existing 82 room hotel, has been historically
successful within the airport corridor since it was originally developed as a
corporately owned Motel 6 in the early 1980’s. The property is now positioned
for a significant transformation.
The transaction was brokered
by Bruce Holmes and Peter Holmes of HB1. “The completed transaction provides
the new ownership with an opportunity to build upon the property's established
presence in the overall Kansas City market and especially within the MCI
submarket. The reposition to extended stay will capitalize on continued long
stay lodging demand throughout the metropolitan area,” said Bruce Holmes, Chief
Executive Officer of HB1. “The buyers see significant potential in the property
and plan to rebrand the hotel, creating an opportunity to reposition the asset
and better serve the Kansas City market.”
The transaction was listed by
HotelBrokerOne’s Oklahoma City office. HotelBrokerOne’s Oklahoma City team also
secured the purchaser.
